SERVICE / MERN STACK DEVELOPER

MERN Stack Developer

MongoDB, Express, React and Node.js — one coherent codebase, end to end.

The MERN stack is where I do most of my work: MongoDB for data, Express and Node.js for APIs, React for interfaces. Used well, it is one of the fastest ways to take a product from idea to production with a single consistent language — TypeScript — across every layer.

A MERN app is easy to start and easy to get wrong. The difference between a prototype and a product shows up in the details: schema design that survives new features, indexes that keep queries fast, authentication that is actually secure, and error handling that fails loudly in development and quietly in production.

That difference is what I focus on. This site's own journal — built on MongoDB with a custom admin, RSS feed and dynamic sitemap — is a working example of the patterns I use for clients.

What you get

  • MongoDB schema design with indexes, validation and growth room
  • Express or Next.js route-handler APIs with typed contracts
  • React frontends with reusable components and clean state
  • JWT or session authentication with hashed credentials
  • Role-based admin panels and content management
  • Environment-based configuration for dev, staging and production

How we work

01

Model

Before any UI, we define the data: collections, relationships, access patterns. Good MERN products are won at the schema level.

02

API first

Endpoints are built and documented before the frontend consumes them, so both sides evolve against a stable contract.

03

Interface

The React layer is assembled from tested building blocks — forms, tables, auth flows — instead of one-off pages.

04

Harden

Validation, rate limiting, error boundaries and backups — the unglamorous work that keeps a MERN app stable in production.

Common questions

Why choose MERN over other stacks?

One language across the stack means faster iteration and easier hiring later. MongoDB's flexible documents suit content-heavy and fast-changing products. For SEO-critical sites I often pair it with Next.js on the frontend.

Can you migrate an old app to MERN?

Usually yes — I have migrated legacy PHP and jQuery codebases to MERN incrementally, one feature at a time, so the old site keeps running during the transition.

Do you provide the database setup too?

Yes — Atlas cluster setup, backup policy, network access rules and connection handling all come as part of a MERN project.
